Is Internet Reciprocal Teaching the Remedy for Saudi EFL Learners’ Reading Difficulties During the Covid-19 Pandemic?

The aim of this study was to investigate the applicability Internet Reciprocal Teaching (IRT) for remedial English reading instruction in EFL context, specifically purpose overcoming difficulties encountered by low-achieving Saudi students majoring at University Jeddah. treatment phase lasted three months and, due COVID-19 pandemic and resulting shift online teaching, instruments used were an pre- post-test comprehension, IRT dialogue rubric downloaded on Blackboard platform that is as well a phone interview conducted with randomly selected from sample. findings indicated significant improvements comprehension learners participating study, reflected students’ effective use different strategies results post-test. However, despite proved effectiveness strengthening some challenges voiced participants. These include computer competency, familiarity courses most notably, their linguistic English, which justified resorting native language (Arabic) one way demonstrating comprehension.
